Favorite Supplement or Nutrient: Probiotics. I’m a sucker for gut health and there is always so much to learn about probiotics and the microbiome. Have you read the latest research on the oral microbiome? How cool is that!
Hey, I’m Emily. I’m a nutrition nerd, writer, New Englander, outdoor enthusiast, and self-declared personal chef (for my family that is).
For years I struggled through conflicting, and sometimes harmful nutrition advice in hopes of finding something that would work for me. After years of misinformation, my hormones were a wreck and I no longer had the mind-body connection that comes naturally to each of us if we let it. I became a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner to be the guide for others that I wish I had when beginning my wellness journey, which thankfully landed me here at Curated Wellness.
As a practitioner and writer for Curated Wellness I am able to use both my love of connecting with others and my passion for education in my daily work, which makes working on this team one of the most rewarding parts of my day. It also helps that the entire Curated Wellness team shares my passion and value for helping others—it’s a great place to work.
I received my BA in Psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh, and recently completed my M.Ed in Health Education and Promotion with a concentration in eating disorders from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Throughout my professional career I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, worksite wellness, facilitating community education presentations, and even teach kids hip-hop classes on the side. In my practice, I work one-on-one with clients looking to improve their relationship with food, increase their energy, and understand how their nutrition & lifestyle choices impact their overall wellbeing.
I’m a born-and-raised New Englander, and as much as I complain about the winter when February rolls around, I know I would miss it if I were gone for too long. Don’t get me wrong though, I LOVE to travel. My favorite part about traveling is finding a local spot to try something new, the best memories usually include food, in my opinion. When I’m not working, you can find me walking my dog, drinking a little too much coffee (it’s just too good!), reading a new fiction novel, and spending time with my family.

Favorite supplement: Magnesium. Such a useful mineral! I often find (especially after a challenging workout) that my muscles cramp - magnesium helps with muscle relaxation, among MANY other things.
Hi there, I’m Joel. I’m a writer & Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
I found my way to becoming an NTP after years of working on my own health, starting with quitting cigarettes for good. I don’t suffer from any chronic illnesses, but over the years I’ve found motivation to make changes to my lifestyle to help make sure I will be around for my family. By working on diet, exercise, stress, and sleep, I feel healthier and more energetic in my 40’s than I did in my 20’s!
Once I had seen results in myself, I decided (after offering plenty of unsolicited advice to my co-workers) that I wanted to use this passion for wellness to help other people. Based in Northern California, I help clients achieve better energy, focus, and connection to their bodies through bio-individual diet and lifestyle changes. I feel very lucky to be working with the group here at Curated Wellness, getting the chance to help our clients while learning from the other amazing practitioners.
I’m a writer by trade and I love to cook, and even translated that love into writing a food blog for a few years. I have a BA in English Literature, as well as a certificate in Marketing, which I managed to turn into a corporate career in marketing copywriting. I’ve had a lot of jobs, from short order cook to retail store manager, but my passions lie in communication through writing and helping people improve their health through nutrition.
I’ve lived in California for most of my life and while I have lived in all parts of the state, Northern California is home. I love that this state offers mountains, deserts, lakes, rivers, and valleys, but nothing fills me with more joy than putting my feet in the Pacific Ocean.

Favorite Food: I love pizza. I am always on the search for the perfect gluten-free crust.
Hi, I’m Karen. I chose to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner after my own medical crisis led me to learn about the impact of proper nourishment on my health. I wanted to share this life-changing knowledge with others, so no one else has to feel as ill as I did. When I learned about Curated Wellness, I jumped at the opportunity to join the team. I truly believe in our moderate and highly individualized approach to good nutrition.
I have a BFA from NYU and have held a myriad of jobs. In corporate America, I was responsible for a multi-million dollar arts and collectible line for the Walt Disney Company. As a performer, I’ve acted on stage, television, and film. I’ve choreographed over a dozen productions. I’ve also toured North America in a couple different musical productions. Classical theatre is where my heart lies and performing the works of Shakespeare will always be my favorite.
Originally from suburban Philadelphia, by way of a decade in New York City, and another decade in the heart of Los Angeles, I currently live in Santa Clarita, just north of L.A. I am a mom, a military-wife, and a dog mom. I can often be found with a cup of coffee, reading on the porch or listening to murder podcasts while walking my pup.
I believe that everyone deserves to feel their best. And I believe that feeling your best can start with the right nutrition choices for you! I’d love to help you start your nutrition journey — make your appointment today.

Favorite Form of Self-Care: Walks on the beach, barefoot. I love living near the ocean and find a sense of calm when I walk on the wet sand. The ocean breeze is nice too.
Hey, I’m Dagmar, a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Low-Carb Nutrition Specialist.
I used to think that weight gain, achy joints, and inflammation were a normal part of aging. But, after being told I was pre-diabetic and metabolically unhealthy, I panicked. Fortunately I had a close friend who guided me through dietary and lifestyle changes that were specialized just for me. After a few months, I couldn’t believe how great I felt. I had lost 55 pounds, my joint pain was gone, and I had so much more energy—it’s so cliche, but I felt like I was in my 20s again! I was in awe of this transformation and wanted to understand more about how nutrition could be so transformative, so I dove into the science trying to learn all I could.
That’s what led me to the Nutrition Therapy Association, then to open my own private practice and ultimately to join the Curated team. As recent times have plainly shown us, metabolic health is of utmost importance and we must do what we can to stay healthy and strong. After my challenges, balancing blood sugar, increasing insulin sensitivity, and reducing chronic inflammation are a focus I am very passionate about. I absolutely love what I do because I get to help others find their stride towards a vibrant, healthy life.
Oh, I also love adventure! While Southern California is my home, I love, love, LOVE to travel to far-off lands to experience different cultures and foods. Before starting a family, I once did a six month volunteer stint with a Thailand YMCA and became addicted to this chicken soup called Khoa Soi, and then spent the following year in the States visiting every Thai restaurant trying to find someone who knew how to make it (yes, this was prior to internet recipes!). Now that I have kids, travel isn’t as exotic, but hopefully I’ve been able to instill that sense of wonder and adventure into my sons. I think we all found that in Costa Rica—while I walked on the beach, Hubby and the boys surfed the waves into brackish waters where crocodiles were often seen! Now that’s adventure!

Favorite Form of Self-Care: I am a huge fan of quality sleep, not only for the mental + physical benefits, but I am a VERY vivid dreamer—I think it’s pretty cool that I get to experience an entirely different world each night in my dreams.
Hi, friends - I’m Jennifer, a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Functional Supplement Specialist, and Brainspotting Practitioner.
I practice and have a wellness store in the Pocono Mountains of NE Pennsylvania. I see clients specializing in nutritional therapy and mental wellness. I have a fondness for the gut-brain connection and love working with people to help rebalance their nervous systems with lifestyle, diet and mental wellness therapies.
I absolutely love what I do! I feel so fortunate to be able to work with Curated Wellness to support and empower you during this journey to reach your health goals. Together, we will explore, learn, and discover attainable, accessible ways to help you succeed. What a fantastic journey it is!
I really enjoy adventure and am down for any type of road trip. Though I am from Maryland originally (mmmm blue crabs), I have spent extended stints in the beautiful state of West Virginia and the vibrant city of Philadelphia, PA before creating roots here in the Pocono Mountains.
When I am not researching or geeking out over all things holistic health, I love spending my time in the great outdoors. I live in a lake community 20 minutes away from three different ski resorts, so I like to spend my winters sliding sideways (snowboarder here) and my spring and fall hiking around the many trails and sections of the Appalachian Trail. Summers I am on the lake as much as I can be—stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, or enjoying a cold one on the jon boat. I positively thrive having all four seasons and wouldn’t trade it for the world.
